Advance Directives

Airport Information

The Tri-State Regional Airport is located about nine miles from the ECCC, near Exit 1 off I-64. Tri-State Airport is the host of two major carriers: US Airways and Delta Connection. These carriers serve the two hub cities of Charlotte and Cincinnati with more than 700 connecting flights to and from 160 additional cities.

ATM

The ATM is located on the ground floor in the atrium near the entrance.

Bio-Ethics Consultants

Members of the Bio-Ethics Committee help patients, family and friends identify, analyze and resolve ethical issues related to patient care through information-gathering and discussion. Although the consultants do not make decisions for the people involved, they do offer advice, make recommendations and identify supportable options. Patients, family members and professionals remain responsible for their own decisions. There is no charge for ethics services. Bus Services

TTA provides transit services Monday through Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 11:15 p.m. in the greater Huntington, West Virginia urban area. TTA buses travel from Huntington to Milton and Barboursville. The TTA information telephone number for all calls about regular bus route service is 304-529-RIDE. The telephone number for all calls about Dial-A-Ride service for the disabled is 304-529-7700.

TTA bus fares are simple. Each time you board a TTA bus, your basic fare is only 50 cents. Exact change for your bus fare is required. There are two fare zones. If you travel in to or out of the Huntington city limits, there is an additional charge of 25 cents. Customers with a Medicare card ride for one-half the fare. Dial-A-Ride fares are twice the regular fare. Just call 304-529-RIDE for the exact fare for your bus trip with TTA.

The TTA Center is located on 4th Avenue at the intersection of 13th Street.

Cafeteria

The cafeteria is on the ground floor off the Cabell Huntington Hospital lobby. It is open daily, and the hours are posted. A patient's family members may purchase guest trays that will be delivered with the patient's tray. To order a tray, call 304.526.3017.

Cancer Resource Center

The Cancer Resource Center offers the latest information about health, cancer and cancer prevention. Resources available include brochures, general reference and health books, medical reference books, internet access for medical and health information, audiotapes, videotapes, medical journals and newsletters and medical and consumer health databases. It is located on the ground floor.

Chapel/Meditation/Prayer Room

The chapel is on the first floor off the Cabell Huntington Hospital lobby. Services are offered on special occasions as posted. The chapel remains open during the day so that anyone is welcome to visit and spend a few quiet moments in reflection.

Coffee Bar

Perk Place, which is on the ground floor opposite the Gift Shop, offers regular and specialty coffees, teas and other beverages, along with an assortment of fresh pastries and other snacks.

Correspondence

Mail is delivered daily to inpatient rooms. Stamps may be purchased at the Credit Union on the ground floor near the cafeteria or using the stamp machine in the atrium near the Gift Shop. Outgoing mail may be placed in the mailbox outside the entrance.

Gift Shop

An Added Touch, the main hospital gift shop, is located between the new parking garage and the Marshall Health building front entrance and offers a wide-variety of items to choose from to brighten someone's day. For more information, call 304.526.2114. A second, smaller shop called The Children's Depot is on the Fifth Floor in the Hoops Family Children's Hospital. For more information, call 304.399.1644.

Hearing-Impaired Services

Deaf-Talk is a communication system to facilitate understanding between healthcare professionals and the deaf. DT Interpreting is an interpreting/translating service from English to 150 other languages. To use Deaf Talk or DT Interpreting, please call 304-526-2090 or speak to your healthcare professional.

Medical Records

If you would like to request copies of your medical records from Cabell Huntington Hospital or the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center, please complete an Authorization To Use/Disclose Health Information. This form can be downloaded or obtained from the Health Information Management Department located on the ground level of Cabell Huntington Hospital This form may also be mailed/faxed to you if it's more convenient; just provide us with a fax number or mailing address.

In Person: To request your records in person, please come to the Health Information Management Department located on the ground level of the hospital. Please bring a picture ID to prove your identity.

By Mail or Fax: To request your records by mail, please download and complete the Authorization To Use/Disclose Health Information. Be sure to have your signature notarized if you are not returning the form in person. You may fax your notarized request to 304-526-2012. You will be contacted if pre-payment is required. Fees: Records being sent directly to a physician or healthcare provider are free of charge. All other copies will be billed through our copying service at a $10 retrieval fee plus .40/page.

Newspapers

You can buy daily editions of The Herald-Dispatch from the machine near the front entrance. Magazines are for sale in the Gift Shop.

Parking

Special parking for patients and visitors is available near the main entrance. Enter through the security gate and park your car, or drive to the main entrance and park under the canopy to use our free valet parking.

Patient Advocacy

Resolutions II

Resolutions II provides services to women with hair loss or who have had a mastectomy. To learn more about available services and products, please call 304-733-2030.

Restaurants

Several restaurants are on Hal Greer Boulevard within walking distance of the hospital, including McDonald's, Tudor's, Frost Top, El Ranchito and GD Ritzy's. Please see the information desk for more information.

Security

Security guards are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week to serve our patients and visitors. To contact security, please call 304-526-2223.

Smoking Policy

To protect the health of Cabell Huntington Hospital patients, visitors, employees, physicians and volunteers, smoking on campus is only permitted in the patient and visitor smoking area just outside the visitor entrance of the ED.

Patients who experience difficulty refraining from smoking should consult with their physician, who may be able to recommend substitutes during their stay. Patients who do not comply with the policy will be reminded of the tobacco-free policy by the hospital staff. Community members interested in getting help to stop smoking are invited to enroll in Cabell Huntington Hospital's smoking cessation program by calling 304.526.2088 or 304.696.2935.

Social Work

Social workers are on duty Monday through Friday during regular business hours. To speak to a Social Work staff member, please call 304.399.6513. After hours, please go through the operator by dialing 0 (zero).

Valet Parking

Cabell Huntington Hospital offers free valet parking weekdays from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Just pull your car up to the main entrance under the canopy, and a parking attendant will give you a receipt, take your keys and park your car. When you are ready to leave, simply give the attendant your receipt and the car will be driven up to the entrance for you.

Vending Machines

Vending machines can be found on the ground floor near the cafeteria opposite the elevators or near the Emergency Department waiting room on the first floor.

Wheelchairs

Wheelchairs are available near each entrance to the complex. Please pull your car up under the canopy and tell the security guard, transportation attendant or valet that you need a wheelchair.
