Smith named Chief Population Health Officer

Dr. Chad Smith is the Chief Population Health Officer for Marshall Health Network.

Chadwick Smith, MD, FAPP, has been named chief population health officer for Marshall Health Network (MHN). Dr. Smith will lead the development and implementation of programs and initiatives to improve the health and wellness of the population MHN serves.

“Improving rural health care and access to care in our region are among our main pillars and this important role is dedicated to achieving these goals,“ said Larry Dial, MD, chief physician executive, MHN. “Using the right data and right approach, Dr. Smith will lead the coordination of population health initiatives to bridge the gap between health care services and community needs, fostering a more comprehensive approach to wellness.”

Dr. Smith most recently served as the medical director for CVS/Aetna, as well as medical director for Putnam County EMS and OEM/911. He previously served as the medical director of the St. Francis ER in Charleston.

Board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics, Dr. Smith received his medical degree from the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, where he also completed his residency.
