Staff Spotlight: Hanna Kesler
Meet Hanna Kesler, FNP-BC
Breast Oncology Nurse Practitioner
Tell us about your role at Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center.
"I see a variety of patients in the office on a daily basis ranging from patients with a new breast issue, newly diagnosed breast cancers, as well as our post-surgical patients and survivors. It is my job to make sure patients understand their diagnosis, their questions are answered, and their breast exams and imaging are within normal limits. If there is an abnormality, I determine the next proper steps to ensure they are taken care of."
How do you work with others on your team to provide the best breast cancer care?
"I am very fortunate to have a wonderful relationship with my co-workers, including the physicians and nurses. I collaborate daily with the physicians to determine treatment plans, study breast imaging, and finalize surgical planning. Our nursing staff make the magic happen with the coordination of care. I have a constant stream of communication with them daily so we are all on the same page."
What is one thing you wish our community knew about Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center and its breast cancer teams’ comprehensive approach to care?
"I would love for our community to see the level of comprehensive care offered here at ECCC. We are able to do everything under one roof with quality care and efficiency. The level of compassion and heart in our Breast Oncology Department is second to none from our front office staff, to our nurses, technicians, and providers."
What’s your favorite part of your job?
"I love building relationships with my patients and easing their fears. I want them to leave my office with a smile on their face and a feeling of confidence and reassurance that they are in good hands."
