The Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center’s (ECCC) Breast Health Center has received the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers (NQMBC) Certified Quality Breast Center designation. The Breast Health Center has earned this recognition and done so for eight years in a row. It is the only hospital in the region to earn this recognition.
“We are extremely proud of this designation,” said Marsha Dillow, RN, MSN, CBCN, director of the ECCC Breast Health Center at Cabell Huntington Hospital. “This is a voluntary program that allows us to share and compare our data with breast centers across the nation. This designation validates we are doing well.”
The NQMBC program offers breast health centers the ability to track and measure quality performance measures in more than 30 individual quality indicators. Measuring and comparing quality performance is effective in assessing patient care and identifying ways to improve.
“We want to continually improve for our patients,” said Dillow. “That is what makes a good organization great.”
