The Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center's Breast Health Center has received the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers (NQMBC) Certified Quality Breast Center designation. The Breast Health Center has earned this honor for the 6th year in a row. No other hospital in the region has earned this recognition.
"We are extremely proud of this designation," said Marsha Dillow, RN, MSN, CBCN, director of the ECCC Breast Health Center at Cabell Huntington Hospital. "This is a voluntary program that allows us to share our data with breast centers across the nation to see how well we compare. This designation verifies we are doing well."
The NQMBC program offers breast health centers the ability to track and measure quality performance measures in more than 30 individual quality indicators. Measuring and comparing quality performance is effective in assessing patient care and identifying ways to improve.
"We want to know how we can improve for our patients," said Dillow. "That is what makes a good organization great."
