Lilly Oncology on Canvas art exhibit coming to Huntington Museum of Art

The Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Huntington Museum of Art present an inspiring collection of art created by people diagnosed with cancer, their families and healthcare providers. Included in the Huntington exhibition is a photograph taken by Oscar Ballester, MD, a medical oncologist at the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center.

The 2008 Lilly Oncology on Canvas World Tour will be on display at the Huntington Museum of Art from Oct. 9 – 19. This international exhibit and art competition includes original artwork and stunning photographs that honor the cancer journey of more than 70 artists.

The exhibition and art competition was created in 2004 by Eli Lilly and Company and in 2006, more than 2,000 pieces of art from 43 countries were submitted by people diagnosed with cancer, their friends, family or health care providers. During the tour's stop in Huntington, 75 pieces will be on display, including 25 winners from the 2006 competition.

The Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Huntington Museum of Art are proud to sponsor this unique exhibit. The Huntington Museum of Art is open Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.; Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with free admission and Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
