Lynn Jarrell Named Director of Clinical Services for Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center
Lynn Jarrell, RN, MSN, FNP, OCN, has been named director of clinical services for the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Jarrell will provide leadership and administrative direction for the clinical staff in infusion therapy, genetic counseling, the Breast Health Center, Comprehensive Breast Center, clinical trials, patient support services and the palliative care program.
She began her career at Cabell Huntington Hospital in 1982 when she was hired as a staff nurse on 4 North. A year later, she was promoted to nurse manager for the unit. Under her leadership, 4 North developed into the oncology unit, and later an outpatient chemotherapy infusion center was established. In March 2004, she was promoted to director of medical surgical services, and served on the team that developed and designed the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Jarrell earned her master?s degree in nursing from Bellarmine College in Louisville, KY, in 1993 then earned her degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Marshall University in 1998. She became an Oncology Certified Nurse through the Oncology Nursing Society in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Jarrell will begin her duties at the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center on August 1.
