Farewell, Friend
Joan C. Edwards cuts the ribbon during the pre-opening ceremonyIt is with great sadness that the administration and staff of the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center and Cabell Huntington Hospital acknowledge the passing of Joan C. Edwards. Her vision and her generosity were the catalysts for the creation of the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center. In addition to her philanthropy, she was known for her blithe spirit and her no-nonsense approach to life.
"Looking past the monetary gifts, Joan was a wonderful individual and a very bright woman who was very engaging," said Brent Marsteller, President and CEO of Cabell Huntington Hospital. "She was a great woman, and we will all miss her because of that."
Joan and her husband James will be remembered through their many charitable works in the Tri-State, particularly through the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center and all of the patients who are treated here.
